These taste so naughty that it’s hard to believe they are healthy – yet they are! They are full of nuts which provide a good hit of protein as well as healthy fats. Of course, nuts are also high in calories so stick to one if you can! I like to add dark chocolate chunks (anything higher than 70%) to make them even more delicious as well as providing more antioxidants. The oats and cinnamon help slow down the release of sugar, giving a steady stream of energy that will last all afternoon.
Ingredients:
- 180g oats
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- teaspoon of cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons of nut butter (opt for 100% nut variety)
- 2 squares of dark chocolate broken in chunks
Method:
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees
- Mix all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl
- Dollop spoonfuls onto a baking tray
- Bake for around 20 minutes or until they are golden brown
- Let them cool before serving.
