Homemade hummus

Shop bought hummus can be high in fat and calories as it often contains a lot of oil and tahini. This recipe is a lighter version that is full of goodness. Enjoy with some chopped up raw veggies for a snack that is packed with antioxidants, protein and fibre.

Ingredients:

  • 400g tin of chickpeas
  • A tablespoon of tahini
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 lemon squeezed
  • A dollop of natural yoghurt (optional but makes it super creamy)

Method:

  1. Pop all the ingredients into a blender and whizz it up until smooth or the consistency you like (you make have to scrape down the sides a few times)
  2. Enjoy with chopped up raw veggies – easy peasy!
