This is the perfect start to the day when you are craving a bit of comfort. All the ingredients are super healthy: oats give you lasting energy as well as being a good source of B-vitamins; apples provide one of your five-a-day; chia seeds pack a powerful hit of protein; flaxseeds contain healthy fats to make you skin glow and raisins are a good source of fibre and energy.
Getting them ready the night before not only saves you time in the morning but means that the oats become really creamy and all the flavours come out.
Ingredients:
- Couple of handfuls of oats
- A dollop of homemade apple sauce (just peel and chop a couple of apples and heat in saucepan with tiny bit of water for about 20 minutes)
- A tablespoon of chia seeds
- A tablespoon of flaxseeds
- Handful of raisins
- Enough almond milk to cover the ingredients (or any other type of milk – dairy is fine too!)
Method (really couldn’t be easier):
- Mix together all the ingredients!
- Pop into a bowl or container and cover up
- Leave overnight in the fridge so the oats and chia seeds absorb the liquid
- Take out in the morning and either eat cold or heat up for a few minutes in a microwave or saucepan
